About Burtis Benbow

Burtis was the 4th Benbow child and considered the genius of the family. Whenever some engineering needed to be done, Burt would go to San Francisco to the Mechanics Library and teach himself the technicalities. He studied dam designs and modified a New England ice-flow dam blueprint for the Eel River Dam. He held numerous patents and was lauded for a Trolley system he developed which the U.S. Military purchased to help with the war effort during WW2.
