About Evangeline Benbow

Evangeline was the second Benbow child. She was the most prolific artist in the family and made her living as a commercial artist in Oakland and Berkeley. Her fine art was exhibited in the Pan-Pacific International Exposition. Eva’s artwork adorned all the hotel; in-room, doors, and furniture. She and Helen design homes together and Eva would paint color mock-ups for the client. She oversaw the furniture, fixtures and equipment at the hotel. She would set up her easel in the Lobby and paint guest portraits.
